
5 lbs Idaho potatoes, peeled and cubed
Enough water to cover the potatoes
1 TBSP salt and 1 tsp salt
1/2 cup butter
8 oz cream cheese
16 oz sour cream
2 tsp garlic powder
Peel and cube 5 lbs of Idaho potatoes. It is important to use Idaho potatoes for mashed potatoes. Boil the potatoes with 1 TBSP salt for 30 minutes. Drain the water off the potatoes. Beat the potatoes with 1/2 cup butter, 8 oz cream cheese, 16 oz sour cream, 1/2 tsp salt, and 2 tsp garlic powder.
